Dr.‐Ing. Alex Brezing's research fields are in “Design Theory”, “Product Innovation”, “Collaborative and Interdisciplinary Product Development”, “Industrial Design”, “Hybrid Structures”. He is a lecturer freelance designer and engineering consultant, with 2 iF design awards in 2006 and 2007.
Description
The seminar gives an overview of Engineering Design Methodology (Mechanical Engineering) as taught at RWTH Aachen University and will cover the complete design process. The methodology supports the systematic development of innovative and optimal concept solutions as well as the application of appropriate design principles for robust and efficient products and is aimed at industrial practice.
The workshop content depends on the attendees’ interests and requests and can include demonstrations of the methodology’s application on case studies brought forward by the attendees and/or more detailed discussions on specific methods and topics.
