Overview

Pakistan is entering into an era where technological growth is inevitable. The infrastructure, formed by a combination of industries, universities and research centers are pushing forth the front. At this crucial stage in time, a deficiency is observed in knowledge sharing, collaboration and opportunity identification. IMechE with the vision of improving the ‘World through Engineering’ is determined to play its role in boosting the rate with which the aforementioned occur in the country and outside and is working to establish itself as a major platform for the exchange of ideas to take place.

IMechE Pakistan boasts an impressive strength of highly qualified engineers from renowned universities in the world. It is associated with national and international giants like Hub Power, Millat Tractors, Pakistan Elektron Limited (PEL) and Shell. Its links with other major players in the country’s economy only continue to strengthen with time. Eventually, it’s envisioned to function as major platform for the exchange of knowledge between academia and industry.

This is the first stepping stone in setting up special interests group in Pakistan. Once the individual chapter strengths are developed in close collaboration with industrial sectors, special research groups will start to appear based on that chapter’s specialty.

The most recently concluded project was with Shell Pakistan. The details can be found in the sub-section.
