Volunteer Opportunities

There are a huge variety of opportunities that the Institution offers to members; all encouraging and supporting involvement with the promotion of Mechanical Engineering.  Opportunities can vary to meet your needs - you may be looking for a one-off volunteer role or an ongoing monthly commitment - whatever fits your lifestyle.

Why Volunteer?

Becoming part of the Institution's volunteer network gives many benefits including: networking with like-minded individuals, sharing best practice, gaining valuable experience and transferable skills, and building on your Continual Professional Development (CPD).  Volunteering allows you to give something back to the profession and the Institution and allows you to pass the knowledge and skills that you have gained on to the Engineers of the future.

It is important to note that the opportunities mentioned here are voluntary. Participation can improve your overall experience of the engineering profession but will not lead directly to employment.

Please note that any expenses incurred whilst carrying out these roles will be reimbursed, making volunteering an opportunity for all.
