 ence in this field and his talk will describe what the industry's current 
 emergency arrangements comprise in the UK and how past experience has help
 ed to shape them.\n\nDescription : Not only was the UK the first country i
 n the World to develop nuclear power stations\, it was also the country\, 
 which first had to deal with the consequences of a serious reactor acciden
 t when the Windscale Pile caught fire in 1957.&nbsp\; This early experienc
 e had a strong influence on the UK approach to nuclear safety\, its regula
 tion and the need for effective emergency arrangements.\n\nDuring the almo
 st 60 years that have elapsed since the Windscale accident\, the UK's emer
 gency planning has undergone continuous development\, most recently follow
 ing the experience from the 2011 Fukushima accident.\n\nPlease download th
