 ster BUT last year&rsquo\;s contestants will soon tell you that not only c
 an it be done\, but that it makes for a huge amount of fun and a great day
  out!\n\n\n\nThis year&rsquo\;s challenge begins at 10 o&rsquo\;clock on S
 unday 11th September at Commercial Wharf (next to The Boathouse Caf&eacute
 \;). &nbsp\;As the opening event of this year&rsquo\;s Ocean City Festival
  it&rsquo\;s sure to kick off with a splash and bring in the crowds.\n\n\n
   \n\n\nYou and your team will have just half an hour to design your boat 
 (with a little help from some professional engineers and naval architects)
  and then two and a half hours to build it\, before you attempt to sail fr
 om Commercial Slipway to the Mayflower Steps and back again.&nbsp\; Withou
 t sinking&hellip\;!\n\n\nHave you got what it takes to be crowned champion
  of the cardboard vessels? \n\n​Be BRAVE sign up NOW. \n\nIt costs &pound\
 ;20 to enter a team of up to 6 people and you MUST register in advance.&nb
 sp\;&nbsp\; There must be at least one responsible adult on each team and 
 those who wish to get in the water must be able to swim!\n\n​\n\nThe Insti
 tution of Mechanical Engineers will provide you with all of the equipment 
 and materials you need to build your boat and the \n\n\nPlymouth and Devon
  Schools Sailing Association\n\n\n will provide you with everything you ne
 ed to sail it.&nbsp\; This includes buoyancy aids\, and a safety boat crew
 ed by RYA qualified instructors.\n&nbsp\;\nChoose your preferred category 
 and register by using the links at the top of the page.\n\n\nPlease read t

 watch then there will be plenty of other activities going on including\;\n
 \n    The Plymouth and Devon Schools Sailing Association who will explain 
 how you can learn to sail and take part in the weekly dinghy racing series
  in Plymouth Sound.\n\n\n    A stand by The City College who are this year
 's Ocean City Festival headline sponsor.\n\n\n    A range of additional en
 gaging STEM workshops aimed at children of all ages. \n\nChallenge your ma
