He holds a degree in el ectrical and electronic engineering\, a Master's degree in power system pr otection and a PhD in the development of techniques for railway electrific ation system design.\n\nDescription : This talk will examine aspects of on e of the of the largest engineering projects in the UK - the Network Rail electrification one of Britains' oldest and busiest railways.\n\nBetween 1 995 and 2002 Dave was a consultant within the UK railway industry\, specif ically in the fields of EMC and electrification/signalling electrical inte rfaces\, and in electrification design. \;\n\nIn 2002\, he led the sys tem design of the first multi-track autotransformer electrification system in the UK and developed the methods and tools now used within Network Rai l for modern electrification system design. From 2013 Dave was Head of Ene rgy Network Strategy within Network Rail\, including integrated protection and control technology (IEC 61850).
