 visit of Langage Power\nStation. This two part event will start with a pre
 sentation about the company\,\nfollowed by a tour of Langage Power Station
  with Centrica Engineers.\nCentrica own a fleet of gas-fired power station
 s across the\nUK. The latest\, completed in 2010\, is at Langage\, Plymout
 h\nin Devon. Rated at 895MW\, it is one of the most efficient generators o
 f its\ntype in the world. The &pound\;400 million investment fills an expe
 cted energy gap in\nthe UK generating capacity\, caused by the expected cl
 osure of nuclear and older\ncoal-fired stations.\nPersonnel Protective Equ
 ipment such as high vis and hard\nhats will be supplied but as a minimum p
 lease ensure you wear stout footwear.\nPlease book a ticket using the link

  Devon &amp\; Cornwall branch will organise a\nwide portfolio of events an
 d activities\, most of which will be open to the\ngeneral public and free 
 to attend.&nbsp\; These\nwill include evening lectures for general interes
 t\; technical visits to local\nengineering firms\; social and professional
  networking events\; engineering\ncompetitions\; and mentoring opportuniti
 es for local students and professional\nengineers.\nIn addition\, the comm
 ittee will engage with local schools to\nsupport the teaching of Science\,
  Technology\, Engineering\, and Mathematics\n(STEM) subjects and offer car
