DESCRIPTION:Near You Event - Volunteers wanted for Greenpower schools’ elec
 tric car race (Western Regional Heat) at Castle Combe\n\nEvent Type: Compe

 ion : Greenpower&rsquo\;s Castle Combe event for the schools&rsquo\; elect
 ric car design and racing project is running again. &nbsp\;This is the 12t
 h year we have supported this event with volunteer scrutineers and marshal
 s. &nbsp\;The event this is one of the most popular in the Greenpower sche
 dule with almost 100 cars racing. &nbsp\;This is a great way to encourage 
 pupils to consider a career in engineering whilst having a good day out. S
 pectators/families are also welcome &ndash\; it is free entry.\n\nThe F24 
 event : Two 90 minute races for 11-16 year olds. A single pair of batterie
 s powers an electric (wheelchair motor) driven car&nbsp\;\n\nThe F24+ (age
  16-25) race occurs between these races for apprentice and university team
 s.\n\nThe help we need to make the day successful includes scrutineering (
 safety/rule checks of cars)\, pit lane marshalling\, prize judging and mor
 e. Early start for scrutineering if you can make it otherwise help is requ
 ired throughout the day. &nbsp\;It is a fun day and no experience is neces
 sary. We also judge\, and produce citations for\, the technical prizes to 
 be awarded on the day. The event is on Sunday 17th September at Combe Circ
 uit\, Castle Combe\, Chippenham\, Wiltshire\, SN14 7EY. &nbsp\;Food and dr
