 atural Environment Research (NERC) MST Radar Facility at Aberystwyth is&nb
 sp\;\nan atmospheric science field station. It operates a variety of instr
 uments&nbsp\;\nincluding the Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere (MST) Rad
 ar\, which measures&nbsp\;\nthe wind. This instrument is large (its antenn
 a array covers an area of 100 m squared) and highly-specialised (it is the
  only one of its kind in the UK). By&nbsp\;\ncontrast\, the Facility's Sky
 -Camera is an inexpensive\, general-purpose&nbsp\;\nweb-cam. It captures a
 n image of sky conditions every minute. These images&nbsp\;\nhave proved t
 o be surprisingly useful when viewed as time-lapse&nbsp\;\nanimations. Thi
 s can reveal details that are not obvious in individual&nbsp\;\nimages. Th
 is talk will use sky-camera images and sequences to illustrate the&nbsp\;\
 nsignificance of some particular cloud types.\n&nbsp\;\nThis event is aime
 d at members of all grades and their guests. Due to the location it is ess
 ential that you book a free ticket in advance.\n\n&nbsp\;\nArrive 18:00 fo
 r a 18:30 start (to manage reception). Photographic ID will be required. T
 he lecture is scheduled to run from 18:30-19:30 and there will be an oppor
