 n\nThe P-8A Poseidon is a Maritime Patrol Aircraft based on the Boeing 737
 -800 and designed to hunt\nsubmarines and ships. It can also carry out lon
 g range rescue missions. It is fitted with the latest generation\nof senso
 rs and can carry anti-submarine warfare torpedoes and anti-ship missiles.\
 nThe aircraft is being introduced into the US Navy\, the Royal Australian 
 Air Force and the Royal Norwegian\nAir Force as well as the Royal Air Forc
 e. It has also been ordered for the Royal New Zealand Air Force.\nThe RAF'
 s nine MRA1 aircraft will be based at RAF Lossiemouth in Northern Scotland
