DESCRIPTION:Near You Event - Invited talk - Brain connectivity: From resear
ch to technological development up to the clinic\n\nEvent Type: Talk or de
bate\n\nIndustry Sector: Biomedical engineering\n\nSpeak Details: Dr. Mahm
oud Hassan is a research scientist in the field of brain signal processing
at the University of Rennes1\, France.\nHis group (www.mhhassan.com) focu
ses on the application of signal processing and data science on cognitive
and clinical neuroscience.\n\nDescription : The human brain is a large-sca
le network the function of which depends on dynamic interactions between d
 istributed regions. Magneto/electro-encephalography (M/EEG) provides a uni
que direct and noninvasive access to the electrophysiological activity of
the whole brain\, at the millisecond scale. \nIn this talk\, Dr Hassan wi
ll introduce emergent methods used to track the dynamics of cortical brain
connectivity from M/EEG sensors. He will discuss the possible application
s of these methods in the field of neural engineering. \n\nFinally\, Dr Ha
ssan will present the example of our start-up project aiming to transform
these methods into products\, such as the analysis of clinical trial data
and the possibility of providing new diagnostic and therapeutic follow-up
tools for some brain disorders.\n\nContact Details: Dr Antonio Fratini
