 dash\; doors open at 5.45 pm for 6 pm start\n\nThe Speak Out for Engineeri
 ng (SOFE) competition provides young engineers with an excellent opportuni
 ty to demonstrate and develop their verbal and visual presentation skills 
 and competence in public speaking.\n\nEach competitor will give a 20 minut
 e oral presentation on a mechanical engineering related subject which will
  be followed by a 10 minute discussion &amp\; question session from judges
 . \n\nPresentations will be judged by panel of engineers with feedback pro
 vided.  The heat winner will receive &pound\;300 and the runner up will re
 ceive &pound\;200. The heat winner will attend the Scottish Final (held la
 ter in 2020) with larger cash prizes available. \n\nREGISTER TO ATTEND\n\n
 The evening will consist of 4 presentations on various engineering topics\
 ; the audience can put the speakers to the test during question time at th
 e end of each presentation. \n\nA buffet will be provided after the first 
 two presentations with further time for networking at the end of the event
 \n\nPlease register by booking your place at the event.\n\nYou do not have
