DESCRIPTION:Near You Event - NON-DOMESTIC HEATING - HOW TO MEET NET-ZERO TA
RGETS\n\nEvent Type: Technical lecture\n\nIndustry Sector: Renewable energ
y\n\nSpeak Details: Pete Mills \nCommercial Technical Operations Manager\
nBosch Thermotechnology\n\nDescription : \n\nThis talk will look at all of
the four pathways identified within UK Government policy on heat decarbon
isation\, considering the pros and cons\, along with the likelihood of suc
cess.\nHeat is responsible for around 37% (including industrial) of the UK
&rsquo\;s carbon emissions\, so is a significant part of meeting our Net Z
ero targets. In spite of having a dedicated heat policy since 2013\, it ha
s proven very difficult to gain traction to shift away from the use of nat
ural gas\, which has been the dominant fuel for more than half a century.\
nThe longer that progress remains slow\, the harder the task will be and w
e are reaching a point where significant decisions have to be taken. The t
alk will endeavour to present the facts about each pathway with an open di
scussion at the end to see what attendees think would be the best route.\n
\n\nArrive from 6:30pm\, talk starts 7:00pm\n\n\nTHE TALK WILL BE FOLLOWED
BY AN OPTIONAL GUIDED VIEWING OF THE PRODUCTION LINE FROM THE OVERHEAD GA
LLERY.\nIf you experience difficulty booking a place\, please email Neil.C
