DESCRIPTION:Near You Event - Landing Gear Materials Investigation\n\nEvent
Type: Technical lecture\n\nIndustry Sector: Aerospace materials and struct
ures\n\nSpeak Details: The talk will be delivered by Timothy Morse\, who i
s an accomplished engineer with 200+ investigations under his belt\, and B
en Heuzé\, who oversees the activity of the Gloucester M&P team with a str
ong technical investigations background.\n\nDescription : Join us for an i
nsightful lecture on "Landing Gear Materials Investigation" by speakers Be
n Heuz&eacute\; and Timothy Morse\, both esteemed professionals in the fie
ld of materials engineering. This lecture\, organised by the local IMechE
and RAeS\, will delve into the fascinating topic of technical investigatio
ns within Safran Landing Systems.\nThis lecture will provide a quick overv
iew on the various activities within the Safran Landing Systems Materials
and Process Laboratory and will focus on the techniques and equipment used
to support investigations on Landing Gear Structures. There will be an op
portunity to review case studies and see examples of landing gear componen
ts investigated within this world-class facility.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbs

ers:\nTimothy Morse is an accomplished materials engineer with a wealth of
experience and expertise. He studied Materials Science and Engineering (B
Eng) at the University of Wales Swansea\, followed by an MSc in Advanced M
aterials from Cranfield University. His Master's thesis focused on the inv
estigation of aluminum coatings for corrosion protection of high-strength
steels. After gaining experience in the oil and gas industry\, conducting
metallurgical investigations\, Timothy joined Safran Landing Systems in 20
 10. In his current role as an Assistant Principal Materials Engineer\, he
leads the technical investigations team. Timothy's remarkable career inclu
des over 200 materials-related investigations\, and he has played a crucia
l role in assisting civil investigation bodies such as the AAIB\, BEA\, an
 d Canadian TSB during Annex 13 investigations.\nBen Heuz&eacute\; is a dyn
amic leader in the field of materials science\, holding a Materials Scienc
e Master&rsquo\;s degree from the Bordeaux Physics and Chemistry Universit
 y. He completed his master's degree as an apprentice engineer while workin
g for Safran Helicopter Engines in Bordes\, France. During his tenure at S
afran Helicopter Engines\, he spent three years in the M&amp\;P laboratory
\, focusing on the investigations of single crystal nickel blades for gas
turbines. In 2015\, Ben transitioned to Safran Landing Systems' M&amp\;P l
aboratory\, joining the technical investigations team. In 2022\, he assume
d the role of Engineering Group Leader for the M&amp\;P Laboratory\, overs
eeing all activities within Gloucester M&amp\;P team.&nbsp\;\n\nEvent to s
