s hosted by Process Industries Division and&nbsp\;promoted across the&nbsp
\;Centres in the North West&nbsp\;and Yorkshire Regions and\, the Aberdeen
Area\, all part of the Process Industries Community.\nProcess industries
include many manufacturing and utilities sectors:&nbsp\; food\, beverages\
 , drugs\, chemicals\, fuels\, water\, plastics and more.&nbsp\; The concep
ts of process safety management &ndash\; the prevention of catastrophic in
cidents &ndash\; that have been developed successfully in higher hazard pa
rts of these sectors are vital in maintaining safe\, reliable operations a
nd should be considered by engineers working in these and other quite diff
erent sectors for their benefits.\nOrganisations that manage high-hazard p
rocesses become skilled at defining clearly &rsquo\;what has to go right&r
squo\; to competent people\, checking and measuring whether that is so\, u
nderstanding the reasons when it has not been so\, having engaged managers
and leaders\, and recognising and carefully managing changes.&nbsp\; Star
ting with a retrospective of 50 years of catastrophic incidents in 2021 we
have run a series of short webinars covering each of these aspects under
the headline of &lsquo\;steal with pride&rsquo\;.\nThis online seminar wil
l include information\, break-out discussions and ideas-sharing for you to
apply in your work.&nbsp\; It will reflect on the series of webinars sinc
e 2021 that have covered the concepts of process safety management and why
they are important to mechanical engineers.&nbsp\; It will also cover the
importance of helping humans to be reliable in safety-critical critical t
asks\, professional engineering ethics and the need to speak up\, and how
the series&rsquo\; legacy could be best used by future engineers.\nEnginee
rs from different disciplines and backgrounds will facilitate the sessions
  bringing their own career experiences.\n\n\n\n \n \n

Ethics related to safety\, in particular as these apply to engineers who
propose layers of protection &hellip\; which are sometimes downgraded or d
