DESCRIPTION:Near You Event - Proposed PFAS Legislation and the Effect on th
e Process Industry\n\nEvent Type: Technical lecture\n\nIndustry Sector: Cr
oss-sector\n\nSpeak Details: Speakers: Mark Neal and Ralf Vogel\, European
  Sealing Association\; Christian Geubert\, Angst+Pfister and EHEDG. \n\nPa
nel: Martyn Ralph\, Mike Eason\, Robert Grant. \n\nChair: Martyn Ralph\n\n
Description : To&nbsp\;book your place on to this event\,&nbsp\;please cli
ck here.\n\n\n\nThis Event has been jointly organised by IMechE\, the Euro
pean Sealing Association and the European Hygienic Engineering &amp\; Desi
 gn Group (EHEDG). This is hosted by Process Industries Division and&nbsp\;
promoted across the&nbsp\;Centres in the North West&nbsp\;and Yorkshire Re
gions and\, the Aberdeen Area\, all part of the Process Industries Communi
ty. \n\nPer- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) present unique challeng
es and considerations for the process industry due to their widespread use
in various industrial applications. PFAS are a class of synthetic chemica
ls known for their water and grease-resistant properties\, making them pre
valent in products such as firefighting foams\, surface coatings\, and man
ufacturing processes. \n\nThis session is designed to provide invaluable i
nsights into the challenges and considerations associated with PFAS in the
context of industrial processes. Permeating a wide range of industrial ap
plications\, PFAS demand a nuanced understanding of their sources\, enviro
nmental implications\, and potential impacts on both human health and oper
ational practices. \n\nJoin us as we delve into the latest research\, regu
latory landscape\, and effective strategies for managing and mitigating PF
AS in the process industry. This webinar serves as a unique platform for p
rofessionals in the field to gain a comprehensive understanding of PFAS.\n
\n\nIn addition to the general discussion on PFAS\, Christian Geubert from
Angst+Pfister and European Hygienic Engineering &amp\; Design Group (EHED
 G) will explain the situation relating to the Water\, Food\, Drink and Pha
rmaceutical industries. By using case studies\, they will highlight specif
ic issues and the difficulties in finding non-PFAS seal replacements for u
se with more aggressive ingredients. Highly flavoured food and drinks and
chemically diverse pharmaceutical mixtures are particular challenges for s
eal manufacturers. The speakers and panel will take your questions from th
e chat and answer them at the end of the session.\n\n\nClick here to see a
