 y\nSolving some of the 'wicked problems' of a decarbonised energy system\n
 The challenges of replacing easily stored high energy density fossil fuels
  in a world that probably has to go beyond zero carbon to negative carbon 
 are not easily solved.&nbsp\; But as Sherlock Holmes famously said:&nbsp\;
 "When you have eliminated the impossible\, whatever remains\, however impr
 obable\, must be the truth".\nThis talk will cover the reasons for ammonia
  being the reserve fuel of choice and how it can play in areas such as lon
 g-term grid support\, shipping and aviation.&nbsp\; It will touch on the i
 ssues of scale and cost\, and examine ways to overcome the hazards by maki
 ng ammonia storage and transport intrinsically safe.\nSpeaker Bio &ndash\;

 ractical mining engineer in Africa\, Mike returned to the UK and worked fo
 r a while in the oil industry before founding his own IT startup.&nbsp\; H
 e has subsequently invested in a range of healthcare and green technologie
 s\, with exits to JP Morgan and Mercedes Benz among others.\n&nbsp\;\nHis 
 current focus is on climate change where Mike has been active for over 30 
 years.&nbsp\; He is currently on the Steering Committee of the MariNH3 mul
 ti-university group developing combustion technologies for the shipping in
 dustry and chairs its International Advisory Board.&nbsp\; He is also conv
 enor of the Green Ammonia Working Group of academics.\n&nbsp\;\nMike has d
