 tirelessly since 2012\, initially to gain access to Sandfields Pumping sta
 tion\, then since 2017 to halt the deterioration of their lovely Grade2* l
 isted building and its contents - the unique\, locally manufactured Cornis
 h beam engine.\n\nThey're now working with Historic England and the Nation
 al Lottery Heritage Fund to secure funding to improve the site so that it 
 becomes a recognised tourist attraction in Lichfield as well as a museum a
 nd community hub.\n\n\n\nIn recognition of the work done by John Robinson 
 McClean\, the engineer responsible for the entire scheme that provided cle
 an water to the Black Country to combat many waterborne diseases\, this ev
