 Out!&nbsp\;\nAbout the competition:\nSpeak Out for Engineering is a global
  competition for young engineers designed to help develop verbal and visua
 l communication in explaining technical mechanical engineering related sub
 jects.\nThe competition provides young engineers and students of engineeri
 ng with an excellent opportunity to demonstrate and develop their presenta
 tion skills and competence in public speaking. Presentations are judged by
  a panel of professionals from industry and each entry will receive feedba

 competition organised by the IMechE Birmingham Young Members panel.\nDate:
  24-October-2025\nTime: 17:30 &ndash\; 21:00 \nVenue: *Aston University\, 
 Birmingham\n\n&nbsp\;\nOn the day:\nCompetitors are asked to give an oral 
 presentation on a mechanical engineering subject. \n&gt\; Presentation Len
 gth: 20 minutes (max)\n&gt\; Discussion and questions from judges / audien
 ce: 10 minutes\nScoring: 90% of the total marks are given for delivery and
  10% for technical content. This ensures that\, while all presentations mu
 st have mechanical engineering content in its broadest sense (e.g. purpose
 \, research\, design\, feasibility\, and practicality)\, all presentations
  have the same chance of success despite varying degrees of technical cont
 ent. \nWho can enter:\nThe competition is open to any Affiliate\, Associat
 e or Young Member of the Institution who has been professionally registere
 d for ten years or less.\nHow to enter:\nAll entrants are required to subm
 it a presentation summary (maximum 200 words) which will be judged by the 
 IMechE panel based on engineering content. Those shortlisted will be selec
 ted to present at the regional competition.\n\nSUBMIT ALL ENTRIES TO NIKHI

 th October 2025 by 17:00 hrs.\n\n\nWHO CAN ATTEND:\nAny one is welcome to 
 attend the event and listen to the presenters.\n\n\nResults of the Midland
  Heat:\nThe winner of the competition will be announced at the end of the 
 competition.\nPrizes:&nbsp\; 1st Prize - &pound\;300 &amp\; certificate\n2
 nd Prize - &pound\;200 &amp\; certificate\nThe winner will also enter the 
 Regional (UK &amp\; Ireland) final which will be in "First week of Novembe
 r 2025".\n&gt\; Refreshments will be provided from 17:00 hrs\, to start at
  17:30 hrs. Please arrive at the venue on time.\n&gt\; Visitors are encour
