\nDescription : Engineering Equity: The Power of Inclusion Moments\n&nbsp\
;\n\nJoin us at the Department of Engineering for a workshop and talk by&n
bsp\;Poggy Murray Whitham about engineering equity.\nDuring this session y
ou will learn engineering\, construction\, and manufacturing are facing a
mental health emergency. Research has shown that people working in these s
ectors are nearly four times more likely to die by suicide than the nation
al average.\n\nThis is a shocking finding that highlights a culture where
silence\, stoicism\, and fear of judgement remain deeply embedded\, demons
trating how vital it is that we recognise the importance of psychological
safety and mental wellbeing in these sectors. \n\nIf our system or machine
s are underproductive\, inefficient\, or unsafe\, we redesign and improve
them. So\, why do we not do the same with our people and culture?\nIn this
talk\, Poggy explores what these insights mean\, drawing on professional
and lived experience\, multiple reseach studies they have led\, and storie
s from their bestselling book\, Inclusion Moments. \n\nPoggy will demonstr
ate how systems thinking\, data\, and storytelling can combine to reveal t
he everyday interactions that can shape belonging. Inclusion does not need
grand gestures. It can start in the smallest of moments\, often the ones
we overlook\, but ones which define how people show up\, speak up\, and st
 ay.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nDate: Thursday 7th May 2026\nTimes:&nbsp\;Doors open
