 es in recent years. This talk will review the current state of the art in 
 soldier systems modernisation across the world\, and show how commercial t
 echnology is revolutionising the way soldiers fight.\nJohn Frankham is an 
 Electronics Engineer and member of the IET\, with 30 years experience in t
 he Security\, Automotive and Defence industries. In 2009\, John moved to j
 oin the new Cosworth Defence business unit\, where he has filled the role 
 of Technical Lead\, deliverying projects which transition products and tec
 hnologies from the Cosworth&rsquo\;s motorsport background into defence.\n
