The HKIE MMNC Division and IMechE Hong Kong Branch are pleased to jointly organize a technical site visit to O·PARK1 (Organic Resources Recovery Centre Phase 1). This visit offers a unique opportunity for engineering professionals to explore Hong Kong’s pioneering waste-to-energy facility, which plays a critical role in the city’s sustainable waste management strategy.

About O·PARK1

Located in Siu Ho Wan, North Lantau, O·PARK1 is the first facility of its kind in Hong Kong. It utilizes advanced anaerobic digestion technology to convert source-separated organic waste (primarily food waste) into biogas for electricity generation. The residues are further treated to produce high-quality compost for landscaping and agricultural use.
