This site visit to Oldham Wastewater Treatment Works will explain how the wastewater coming from the urban areas is treated in a Wastewater treatment site. The visit will begin with a safety induction to ensure that all delegates are aware of key safety considerations when on a treatment site. This will be followed by a concise introduction to the wastewater treatment process, providing essential context before the tour. (UPDATE: Postponed to Wed 29th April.)

John Dora, who plays a central role in their development, will discuss the evolving landscape starting with the ISO 14090 “framework” and 'family' of standards it spawns. This will be followed by developments on structural Eurocodes; CEN/ CENELEC work on guidance for standards' users and writers; BS8631 and the Adaptation Pathways concept for dealing with uncertainty; PAS 3090 for Infrastructure Systems; and the Rapid AP Assessment concept
