Welcome to the Republic of Ireland Young Member Panel

The Republic of Ireland Young Member’s Panel (ROI YMP) aims to continue to improve upon the reputation of the institution and the established ROI panel by introducing Young Members to the

professional activities of the IMechE, and in doing so encourage them to stay connected and committed to the institution throughout their careers. The panel’s ambition is to deliver a programme of value added, interesting and stimulating events which support and encourage all Young Members from the earliest stages of their career through to becoming a Professional or Chartered Engineer and beyond.

The aims of the ROI young members panel are:

Encourage and welcome all young members to the activities of the IMechE, creating a friendly forum to assist in their professional development
Organise events of a technical and social nature
Work closely with other young engineering groups in our region to create lasting relationships
Promote and encourage young member engagement at events and create a forum for networking
Help members widen their engineering network and guide their professional development toward chartership

Our aims will be carried out in line with the 5 key themes of the institute which are, Energy, Environment, Transport, Manufacturing and Education.

We are currently looking for young people who are in interested furthering their careers in engineering who either already have engineering degrees, or are working towards them. We also encourage those working within the engineering sector to get in touch.

However, this panel is not just about careers and work!! You do not have to be a member of the IMechE to attend our events and we aim to complete regular events, which are fun and interesting and will (occasionally) be based around an engineering theme. Our events are for you, the members, so we would definitely welcome any ideas or feedback from you through the "contact us" facility or through our Facebook page.
