Online via ZOOM - Booking Essential

Transport accounts for 37% - the largest share - of energy-related CO2 emissions In Ireland, with heavy duty vehicles responsible for around 25% of all road transport emissions including PM and NOx emissions: zero tailpipe emissions is better for the environment and human health. This Engineers Ireland presentation will discuss the global roll-out of zero tailpipe emissions vehicles, battery electric vehicles & hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles, and their inevitable expanding rollout & scale up in Ireland, a country with an aim to achieve >50% total emissions reductions in the next decade.

Dr James Carton is a Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) funded Assistant Professor in Sustainable Energy & Hydrogen in the School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Dublin City University, Ireland. Dr Carton is a Hydrogen Taskforce Expert to the UN-ECE, chair of Hydrogen Ireland Association and Hydrogen Mobility Ireland academic advisor, as well as World Energy Council FEL alumni. Dr Carton’s research focus is hydrogen techno-economic modelling, hydrogen for mobility, Power-to-X, renewable energy storage and hydrogen policy.

There is no charge for this lecture, and it is open to the public, but booking is essential.
