The IMechE Germany Group is very pleased to announce that the IMechE President, Mr Jon Hilton (https://www.imeche.org/about-us/our-people/jon-hilton), has chosen to make an official visit to Germany in March 2017.

On Tuesday 21st March, Jon will arrive in Munich and will visit the General Electric Global Research Center in Garching ( http://www.geglobalresearch.com/locations/munich-germany ).  The visit will start at 15:00 and will involve presentations on GE's Research activies as well as a tour of the laboratories.

The main event will be an evening reception on Tuesday 21st March, at which Jon will deliver his presidential address.  This will take place at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski in Munich ( https://www.kempinski.com/en/munich/hotel-vier-jahreszeiten/ ) starting at 18:30 and will be attended by Mr Paul Heardman, Her Majesty's Consul-General for Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, who will make a short presentation on Britain's changing relationship with Europe and how this may develop in the next years.

On Wednesday 22nd March, Jon will visit MAN Diesel & Turbo SE in Augsburg (http://dieselturbo.man.eu/company/about-us).  Jon will be given a factory tour, commencing at 11:00 and lasting approximately 2 hours.

Later on the Wednesday afternoon, starting at 15:00, the Germany Group will hold its AGM in Munich, as communicated in a separate message. 

IMechE Members are cordially invited to attend each or all of these events.  In order to be able to finalise arrangements well in advance, we would be very grateful if you would register by Friday 3rd March by return of email to germanychair@imechenearyou.org, indicating which of the events you would like to attend.
