Description
This is your invitation to our first Danish technical visit and
social event to be held on Friday 29th September 2017. We will have a guided
tour around the 570MW Avedøre power station. It can work from biomass, and
incorporates other measures to reduce environmental impacts. Block 1 has
been re-built to fire with wood pellets, but will still be able to fire with
coal. It has recently been fitted with an air cooler with a footprint 4m x 5m
and 2.7m in height. It weighs 34 tons without water, and 50 tons with water.
Block 2 is a multi-fuel burning facility, which consists of a main boiler,
fired by wood-pellets, a straw-fired boiler and two gas turbines.
Learn more about the power plant here: http://www.power-technology.com/projects/avedore/
After the tour we will go into town for dinner and drinks.
The event is free-of-charge except for food and drink in the BrewPub.
