Thordon has recently launched the wireless BCM. This is intended for vessels where routing cables, to retrofit a wired version, may not be technically or economically feasible.

The BCM-W is an advanced, wireless solution replacing the need to install a cable through the hull for wired BCMs, giving ship operators real-time data on seawater-lubricated propeller shaft bearing clearance. Using patented electromagnetic field signaling (EMFS) technology, the BCM-W transfers data from underwater sensors to monitors above the waterline, allowing easy uploads to tablets or laptops. This on-demand, real-time monitoring helps identify potential issues early, improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

Speaker(s)

Anthony (Tony) Hamilton is currently the Technical Director at Thordon Bearings and oversees the Engineering, New Product Development, Field Services and Polish Hydro power departments. This allows access to many opportunities, advancing current products and creating new ones.
