Description
Launched in 1991, the JCB Fastrac revolutionised the agricultural vehicle market. With roading speeds of up to 50mph, a tremendous evolution in machine design was required. That challenge was taken up by JCB Landpower in Cheadle, Staffs. Ray Clay, ex-chief engineer of the JCB Fastrac, describes the early development of the machine, where innovation and the limits of technology were well and truly pushed. The 2015 JCB Fastrac 4000 Series brings the current model range back to the forefront of todays agricultural vehicle technology. Peter Swinnerton provides a technical brief on the 4000 Series suspension system; see how the DNA of the original model is still retained over 25 years later…
