Integrating additional Human Factors requirements into railway system design ensures that systems can be optimised for their effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction. This approach has historically delivered improved system performance and user acceptance, reduced error rates and re-work; reduced system training time and assisted projects to effectively handle multiple stakeholder requirements.

Bev Norris will describe SNC-Lavalin’s approach to Human Factors integration, using case studies to describe key areas of work, lessons learned  and future Human Factors challenges

Dr Beverley Norris PhD FCIEH is a Senior Consultant on Human Factors related to Rail and Transit Infrastructure at SNC-Lavalin. Within the rail industry Beverley has led a number of large scale research projects for RSSB and Network Rail.
