Description
The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) has recently published a number of innovative gauges specifically designed to maximise vehicle size and compatibility.
The result is a suite of dynamic gauges applicable to the whole UK rail network that adjust with cant deficiency to make effective use of available space.
David's paper summarises the KE Template method used to establish the gauges and provides examples of how the gauges are being used to maximise vehicle size with the potential for cascade, facilitating bigger trains that are able to operate on a wider selection of routes.
