A lecture-presentation of the last major Oil & Gas Project in the Norfolk region. The Bacton Rejuvenation Project started in 2011 and as is now reaching conclusion, one of the original Project Team members will offer a brief insight on all the fascinating new technologies which were developed and installed. The lecture also aims to advertise Engineering and the IMechE to young engineering students, as well as motivating them to pursue a career in Engineering.

This illustrated talk relates to the crucial roles played by the Royal Air Force and the Luftwaffe during World War Two. A period of rapid advance in technology and engineering, and their deployment toward the war effort. Our speaker has done a huge amount of research into the subject and tonight he will reveal some of the events and issues of interest to engineers.

It will address the progress of the Nuclear Industry from the 1930’s to the present day, and the current status of the Business, highlighting the shortfall of skills in the UK to support this expanding industry.
