    Corona charge - four student teams will present their innovative design concepts to an audience that includes members from the Motorsport Steering Committee. For 2021 the design challenge is an electric sportscar for international championship events, potentially to support Formula E if the opportunity arises.     Paul Jones, until recently Director of Product Management at Bentley Motors, will chart the history and products of Bentley Motors since its founding by Walter Owen Bentley in 1919; “to build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class”; through the Le Mans’ successes of the 1920’s; right up to the present day under the ownership of Volkswagen AG as the world’s leading luxury car brand. This will culminate in an overview of the stunning all new third generation Continental GT.

    Karl will start his talk at 19:00 in Vincent Auditorium but Interesting cars and bikes welcomed for display from 18:00 at IMEC Building. The lecture will cover Ferdinand Porsche's interest in hybrid drives, including the "Mixte", which he perfected over many decades and for which he received the Pötting Prize. Porsche used it to drive road trains, automobiles and ultimately in World War 2 a Tiger tank prototype, a tank destroyer and a 180-ton megatank.
