Dr Paul Robertson, Cambridge University Engineering Department has worked for Lucas Aerospace and PA Technology. He now teaches RF electronics, sensors and instrumentation. One of his research interests is propulsion systems for aircraft.

In this talk Dr Robertson will discuss the technical merits and drawbacks of electric and hybrid propulsion for light aircraft, based on both theory and practical lessons learned. A prototype hybrid power unit will be on show in the lecture theatre.
