The Kelpies are 30-metre high horse-head sculptures, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, near the River Carron, Falkirk, Scotland. The sculptures were designed by sculptor Andy Scott and were completed in October 2013.

Tim Burton, Sales & Marketing Manager, SH Structures Limited, has worked in the steel construction industry for 36 years, initially training as land surveyor. Tim moved into construction in 1979 working as Junior Site Engineer for a Sir William Arrol, Alexander Findlay joint venture at Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire. Tim has since worked on major steel construction projects throughout the UK and Overseas and now works SH Structures Ltd who are one of the UK’s leading specialist fabricators. Tim's impressive portfolio of projects includes offshore oil platforms, high rise buildings and international suspension bridges.

Tim’s involvement with the Kelpies project started in 2008 and he has written numerous features about the scheme and contributed to the BBC documentary ‘Creating the Kelpies’.
