Cambridge Area AGM and Museum Tour
The Annual General Meeting of the Cambridgeshire Area of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers will be held on Thursday 18th July 2024 at 19:00.
Cambridge Museum of Technology, based in a Victorian sewage pumping station, is the home of the city's industrial heritage. It houses the only non-rotative Hathorn Davey engines of their type in the world, as well as collections from local companies: Lacks, Chivers, Cambridge Instrument Company and PYE. The Museum has been home to this collection for over 50 years and helps people to explore, enjoy and learn about their local industrial heritage by celebrating the achievements of local industries and the people who worked in them. Time: AGM starts at 19:00, followed by tour.
Venue: The event will be held at the PYE building at the Museum of Technology in Cambridge. If you wish to attend, please book a ticket, and you will be sent minutes from the previous AGM, and an agenda 24hrs before the event.
Museum of Technology: Old Pumping Station, Cheddars Lane, Cambridge, CB5 8LD. Access to the meeting will be by the gates on Cheddars Lane.
Parking: There is limited parking on site at the Museum for those with access difficulties, If you require a parking space on site please state this when booking your ticket. On street parking is available on Cheddars Lane and free parking for up to 3hrs is available at TESCO's next to the museum.

The tour will be hosted by Dr Jinx St.Leger who has worked as an industrial heritage engineer for over 20 years. She managed the restoration of the Museum of Technology's historic boiler and steam plant in 2019, and its return to steam in 2022.
