Making the future: Welding engineering for Net Zero Energy and Green Technologies
26th June, 17:30 to 20:30 @ Cambridge Museum of Technology
The IMechE and TWI invite you to a FREE joint event at the Cambridge Museum of Technology where you can:
• Meet employers, apprentices and trainers.
• Speak with welding professionals.
• Try
your hand at welding.
• See technology in action.
• Find out how careers in welding
engineering can make your future a success
Short presentations (around 10-15 mins each) will be given by:

• Matt Haslett: A career in welding engineering
• Chris Eady: What is a Welder? From Greek God to Guardian of the
Galaxy
• Nick Frank: Cambridge and Peterborough LSIP
Tabletop displays and activities:
• Soldamatic Augmented Reality Welding Simulator
• Warren Services & MigAnglia welding simulator and meet apprentices
• North Cambridgeshire Training Centre
• Cranfield University cobot and VR
• The Welding Institute membership and registration
• IMechE membership and registration
• Enginuity qualifications and SkillWeld competition
Refreshments will be provided.
Tours of the Museum of Technology will be given by Heritage Engineer Dr Jinx St Leger.
Time: Starts at 17:30, ends at 20:30.
Venue: The event will be held at the PYE building at the Museum of Technology in Cambridge - Old Pumping Station, Cheddars Lane, Cambridge, CB5 8LD. Access to the meeting will be by the gates on Cheddars Lane.
Parking: There is limited parking on site at the Museum for those with access difficulties, If you require a parking space on site please state this when booking your ticket. On street parking is available on Cheddars Lane and free parking for up to 3hrs is available at TESCO's next to the museum.
This event is organised by the TWI in conjunction with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Cambridgeshire area.
