Evening at the Institute of Astronomy
Join the IMechE Cambridge region for a night with the stars at the Cambridge University Institute of Astronomy. Following an astronomy lecture by Dr Sandro Tacchella, we will enjoy spectacular images from the array of telescopes. This fun and informative evening is ideal to bring family and we will have the opportunity to look at the engineering involved with this incredible subject.
Doors open at 6:30pm when there will be an IMechE meet and greet.

Times: Doors open from 6:30pm.
Talk starts at 7:15pm for 30 minutes.
Observation session starts at 7:45pm.
After the observation session we will be reconvening at the Castle Inn, Castle Hill afterwards for some informal networking.
Tickets: This event is free but please book a ticket (link above) so we can anticipate numbers.
Venue: Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Road, Cambridge, CB3 0HA
Parking: We have maps showing how to find the IoA . There is plenty of parking available, with 3 car parks along Madingley Rise. Please allow a little time for finding parking and walking back to the IoA; you can always drop off people at the main entrance before finding parking. Please do not park along the verge or pavement on Madingley Rise. There is a disabled parking place next to the front door at the left. Please get in touch with Dr Matthew Bothwell if you have any specific concerns.
