Description
There has been a huge amount of positive news from Crossrail over the past few years, culminating in the completion of tunnelling in the summer of 2015. This has been a major achievement. So what’s left to do? In short, an awful lot! The project is described as only 65% complete (and this excludes the rolling stock!).
Before joining Crossrail, our speaker, John Doyle, was General Manager on the Victoria and subsequently the Jubilee Lines of London Underground. He lived through nearly 7 years of operating the Victoria Line whilst it was being upgraded and, on the Jubilee line managed the task of exploiting a modern flexible moving block signalling system.
John will outline the numerous engineering, people and process activities that will have to be successfully completed if Crossrail is to start operations in 2018. The journey has started!
