UAV's in Humanitarian Aid and Development

A technical lecture hosted by the Royal Aeronautical Society and co-sponsored by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers

 

Description:

Daniel Ronen will describe the aid delivery and reconnaissance capabilities of a novel fixed-wing medium range small aircraft and the progress made internationally on its promotion. Bookings should be made using this link.

The lecture will explore the current status and future potential for UAV technology to be applied to humanitarian aid and development applications.  It will include an outline of the UAVaid system being developed in the UK, and how such technologies could act as key enablers for improvements in the way humanitarian assistance and international development is delivered.

Detailed description of Speaker:

Daniel Ronen is the Co-founder of UAVaid and one of the UK’s leading experts in civil and humanitarian UAV applications.  His career has spanned a broad range of senior strategic and operational positions in the engineering, logistics and aerospace sectors, as well as commercial and non-commercial international relations.  Daniel is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
