Welcome to the Merseyside and North Wales Young Members Panel
We are a diverse group of young Mechanical Engineers from many different companies and organisations. The YM group provides a way to make friends, contacts, expand your technical and professional knowledge, and get involved in technical and social events.
The group welcomes all mechanical engineers including affiliate, associate, corporate members and those working towards CEng, IEng or Eng Tech status. A young member is someone who has been chartered for less than ten years, but anyone is welcome and we often have members from the senior group attending.
We aim to hold meetings once a month, so please contact us for information on the next meeting date and location.
By fulfilling these commitments we aim to help our fellow members and play a small part in Improving the World through Engineering.
Follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay up to date.
Sean Yong AMIMechE
I am a Project Engineer within the UK rail industry, currently working with Stadler Rail Service UK, where I support a wide range of engineering projects across passenger and freight rolling stock. I graduated from the University of Leeds with an integrated Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and am currently working towards Chartered Engineer status with the IMechE.
It is an honour to serve you as the Young Member’s Chair for the Merseyside and North Wales Region. I am passionate about supporting engineers, especially the next generation of engineers as they develop their careers.
My aim is to create opportunities for students, apprentices, graduates and early-career professionals to build their networks, learn and gain exposure to the diverse industries and technologies that shape our profession. Through technical visits, lectures, professional development events, and social activities, I hope to foster an inclusive and engaging engineering community that encourages learning and career growth.
