Welcome to the North Wales Area

The North Wales Area Panel was established in 2005 to better serve the members in the North Wales Area by organising appropriate local events.

The NWA committee is made up of several hard working and focused volunteers who care about Engineering and wish to share their enthusiasm with others. We are always open to new members to help arrange events and engagement with the public.  We currently meet once a month, alternating venues between St Asaph and Wrexham. Please do not hesitate to contact any of the committee members if you want to join us

If you have a little time to spare and are interested in joining the Committees, please get in touch. We need enthusiastic volunteers and there are lots of exciting opportunities for you to give back to the community, encourage people to enter the engineering profession, develop your skills and also provides some great networking opportunities.

We have a Facebook page and Twitter account; we welcome interaction and engagement on social media!

North Wales Area Chair Person, Sarah Black-Smith

I was elected to the Chair Person role in the North Wales area committee in late 2017.   I am a member of the sub group organising the New Member’s event and the Regional Annual Engineering Dinner.

I live in North Wales and work in Congleton for Siemens.  I am passionate about Manufacturing and have been Head of Factory Operations at the Digital Factory in Congleton since December 2014, having previously been Head of Manufacturing.  I have worked for Siemens for 16 years and prior to working in Congleton, held a number of Operational positions within the Siemens Energy business in Lincoln.

I am really looking forward to our 2018/2019 events programme; we have a lot of events being planned for North Wales and I would love to hear any ideas that you have for what you would like the committee to be working on.

I am conscious that we represent you the members and that your views and suggestions are all important for us to organise the annual programme.

Kind Regards,

Sarah (July 2018)
