Annual Engineering Dinner - March 2018

The Region was delighted to welcome IMechE President, Carolyn Griffiths and after dinner speaker Michael Edwards to attend the 2018 Merseyside and North Wales Engineering Dinner on Friday 2nd March.

The Annual Dinner this year was organised by a small group including; Phill Francis (Regional Committee Member), Sarah Black-Smith (NWA Chairman), Rachel Lindon (Merseyside and North wales Secretariat) and John Pollard (Treasurer).

The 2018 Annual Dinner saw around 165 member companies, members and their guests enjoying an extremely sociable evening, with good food, whilst raising money for charity.  Our very own John Pollard (Treasurer), was MC for the evening; Carolyn gave the pre-dinner speech and Michael 'Eddie the Eagle' Edwards, gave a fantastic after dinner speech, talking about Olympic Spirit and determination.

Carolyn was also able to present this years IMechE apprentice award to a deserving Leon Jacob, who on the evening received a certificate and cheque for this fabulous achievement. 
 
We had our ever popular 'Fun Casino' which raised a fantastic amount for our chosen charities; which will be matched by our sponsor.

We would like to thank all of those involved in the planning and supporting of the event; and all who attended for making it such a Fantastic evening.

Next year's event will be held on Friday 1st March 2019 - so put the date in your diary now.
