New Members event- July 2018

Each year the Region invites newly elected members to attend a celebration of their achievement. This year we held the event at the Anderton Boat Lift and invited those who in the previous 24 months obtained the status of EngTech, IEng, CEng or Fellow, along with their immediate families to celebrate.  We are hoping to do the same for those new members for 2018/19 in the summer of 2019 if possible at the same venue.

The event was attended by over 45 people, IMechE members and their guests.  We recognise those partners and other guest who have helped the qualified Engineers with their achievements within the IMechE.

Gareth Jones, Regional Chair, introduced the event and with other members of the Region Committee, congratulated all on their election to the Institution.  John Pollard (our Treasurer) was our Compere for the evening.  Certificates were presented, and all were encouraged to attend the Region’s various events in the coming year and even consider joining the committee.

The event started with a prosecco (and orange juice) reception in the Marquee, followed by a boat trip on the River Weaver.  After this we all enjoyed a fantastic BBQ and then it was time to present the well-earned Certificates.

A fantastic evening with an excellent opportunity to meet and network with members across the region. An amazing night had by all.
