Abstract
The presentation will show how classical methods of analysis have be applied to develop new procedures for analysis preloaded bolted joints. These new procedures are based on a holistic approach to preloaded bolted joint analysis. This is achieved by considering multi-bolt joints as consisting of multiple elements that interact with each other to produce a complex system. Guidance on how the procedures can be applied to bolted joint design is also discussed.
Timing
The doors will be open from 17.15, and the lecture will begin at 17.45. We expect the lecture and Q & A to finish by 19.15.

Dr Mike Welch became a freelance consultant of engineering analysis in 1985. Previously he was R&D Manager at Gulick Dobson Special Products, and before that Senior Project Engineer at Babcock Power. Since 2016 he has been an Independent Researcher.
