Booking essential
 - to attend the tour you'll need to state your nationality because some are restricted but all are welcome to join the talk.
Please bring photo identification to join the tour, whether you wish us to register you in advance with MTC or if you'll register with MTC on the day - passport or driving licence; thanks.
Limited places for the tour - if it becomes fully booked we'll set up a waiting list so please let us know if your plans change and you're no longer able to attend.

The scope covers laser processing for surface engineering, machining and welding; it doesn't cover additive technologies.

UPDATE 09/07/2026
The tour, talk and subsequent refreshments are all in the building to the right of the lake and footbridge by the roundabout at the end of Central Boulevard.

You can use the car parks either side of the roundabout.
See here for directions from further away and a map, etc.
There's access from Combe Fields Road (near Ansty & Brinklow) but vehicles need to be let in the security barrier.

Bethan Smith, Head of Laser Processing, Laser Processing Centre of Excellence, has led the Laser Processing team at the MTC for 7 years. She sits on the Association of Industrial Laser Users (AILU) board, and is deputy chair for the HVMC cross-catapult special purpose group in Joining Technologies.
