Description
After cancellations in 2020 due to Covid and in 2021 due to technical problems with the electronic control system, Worcester Area are pleased to announce the following event:
Join us for a short cruise on the new electric powered community trip boat, "The Pamela May 2", with a talk about its design and performance.
The original trip boat, Pamela May, was replaced a few years aago after giving 25 years excellent service carrying disabled or disadvantaged people. The new boat, Pamela May 2, was designed by members of the crew to be a much improved version by having electric motors (' no diesel fume emissions’) powered by solar panels with overnight charge electric power sockets. Longer to give comfort for 12 passengers, instead of 10. More room for the lift, now at the front instead of being in the way at the back. Larger windows all round for a better view.
24 places are available; split into two groups of 12, one cruising up and down Vines Park whilst the other group have a talk in the cabin.
This event is free to attend and is open to all with an interest in Engineering but booking is essential.
