Railway Division North Eastern Centre

The Railway Division North Eastern Centre’s aim is to provide a relaxed informative forum which enables people to keep abreast of developments within the Rail Industry, expand their network of contacts and explore new interests.

To achieve this, the Railway Division North Eastern Centre organises a varied range of events including presentations, papers, lectures and discussion forums. Our events include a wide variety of topics including local, national and international developments. These events are always of interest and where possible hot off the press and topical.

Our events are open to all – not just people in the Railway Industry.

Highlights of last season's programme were papers on 'Hydrogen powered Trains';'Operation and Maintenance of LNER's new Azuma fleet'together with 'Academic support for the Railway Industry'-the latter at Huddersfield Universtiy .

WHERE

Normally our events rotate around the four cities of York, Doncaster, Leeds and Newcastle. This is to try and give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.

However, as a result of the pandemic, the rest of our 2020-21 evening presentation will be virtual.

WHEN

In 2021 our meetings will start at 18:30.

WHO

The North Eastern Centre committee consists of a mixture of working and retired people from different areas across the Rail Industry. We all have one common passion – to share and drive the engineering developments within the Railway Industry.
