Richard Lively,

Executive Director – Electrified Engineering,

Cummins Electrified Power Business Unit.

Richard Lively is the Engineering Director for the Electrified Power Business Unit at Cummins. In this role he is responsible for the delivery of new products to production and also the provision of current product engineering support.Richard is based in Milton Keynes in the UK, though his engineering team are located around the globe including India, China, United Kingdom along with California, Oregon and Indiana in the USA.

Richard began his career working in the UK defence industry in 1992, before beginning a 15-year period with Cummins in 1996. During this period, he led the Euro 4 ISBe development, was General Manager of Cummins East Asia R&D centre in Wuhan and also Technical Director at Cummins Darlington.

Between 2011 and 2014 he was VP for Engineering for Ricardo in China and then spent 2014-2018 with Jaguar Land Rover in the UK where he was latterly responsible for HV batteries. Richard rejoined Cummins in July 2018 in his current role.

Richard holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Newcastle Polytechnic and an MBA from Durham University.

He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
