The Annual General Meeting of the IMechE North East Region will be held on Tuesday May 12th at 19:30 at the Ramside Hall Hotel, outside Durham City. All IMechE North East Region members are cordially invited. Light refreshments will be served.
Nominations are invited for the posts of Chair, Vice Chair, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer. Nominations, together with details of a proposer and seconder, should be sent to Mark Jackson here: Mark Jackson
Nominees, Proposers and Seconders must be IMechE Members registered to the NE Region. Nominees for the post of Regional Chair must be Fellows of the Institution.
Following the AGM, Jarek Rosinski, Executive Chairman and Founder of Transmission Dynamics, will speak on
"Shaping Engineering in the North East – Predicting the Unpredictable"
In this keynote, Jarek Rosinski will explore the accelerating transformation of engineering driven by machine learning and AI. Reflecting on a pivotal moment
at SXSW 2023 in Austin, he shares how a realisation that AI represents not just
another revolution, but a tectonic shift; sparked the rapid development of an AI-driven OLE monitoring system, now fully deployed just three years later.
This talk connects 200 years of rail engineering
heritage with the cutting edge of modern design, showing how technologies such
as CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers are reshaping how we design, manufacture, and
maintain critical infrastructure.
Transmission Dynamics was established in 1996 as an engineering troubleshooting consultancy and has grown into a global leader with over 80 employees in the UK and Poland.

Jarek Rosinski is the Chair and founder of Transmission Dynamics - an engineering business operating in the North East. He is Professor in Practice at Durham University, author of many patents, scientific publications and designer of more than 200 electronics systems operating in industry globally
